The IMAREX Tanker Traffic rate indications include current assessments of chartering rates based on reported fixtures.
The rate indications are based on tanker fixtures from an 8-day time window for each individual route and tanker sector. This time window is leading up to the date with the most recently available rate information. Only fixtures where the most recent rate infomation is not older than 30 days are included in computing the rate indications.
There is one rate table per tanker sector, and each rate table is sorted by market and then by route, i.e. load area and discharge area. The tables include the following information which may need explanation:
Latest available rate is the most recent rate information available for this tanker type and route.
Rate volatility is derived from the period's rate spread over the arithmetic mean of the rate.
